That’s how it’s done:
Put warm milk and sugar in a large bowl. Crumble in the yeast. Leave to stand for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the yeast and sugar have dissolved.
Add water, flour, egg, butter and salt and knead for about 10 minutes until you have a smooth dough. Knead a few times by hand, form into a ball, place in a bowl, cover and leave to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and line 1-2 baking trays with baking paper.
Divide the yeast dough into 10 equal parts, shape them into balls and place them on the baking paper. Cover with a towel and let rise for another 20-30 minutes.
Whisk the egg yolk with the milk and brush the burger buns with it.
Finally, sprinkle the sesame seeds on top.
Place the burger buns in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes until they are golden brown.
Tips:
The baked burger buns are great for freezing and storing.
