- Puree: Place the watermelon chunks into a blender or food processor. Blend until you get a smooth puree. If your blender is small, you may need to do this in batches.
3. Strain the Juice:
- Strain: Pour the watermelon puree through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large bowl or pitcher. This will separate the juice from the pulp. Use a spoon to press down on the pulp to extract as much juice as possible.
4. Simmer the Juice:
- Boil: Transfer the strained watermelon juice to a large saucepan. Bring the juice to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Simmer: Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer. Allow the juice to simmer for about 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally. As it simmers, the juice will reduce and thicken into a syrupy consistency.
